Free Reels Store is a directory and a set of guides. There are no accounts to create, nothing to log in to, and nothing to buy - so most of what a privacy policy usually covers simply doesn't happen here. This page sets out the small amount that does.
You can read every page here without signing up, and we never build a profile of you.
Email only if you write
We hold your address because you emailed us, and we use it to reply. Nothing else.
Nothing sold, ever
We don't sell, rent or trade personal data, and we don't run advertising networks on this site.
Apps are their own world
Anything you install from our links has its own policy. We have no view into it.
1. Who we are
Free Reels Store is an independent hub that lists free reels and short-drama apps in one place and publishes guides about how they work. We are the party responsible for this website and for the small amount of personal data described below - in the language of European data-protection law, the controller.
We are not any of the apps we write about. We do not operate them, we have no relationship with your account on them, and nothing you do inside one of those apps is visible to us. That distinction runs through the whole of this policy.
Two things, and they arrive very differently. The first you hand to us on purpose; the second is the ordinary technical record that any web server keeps in order to serve a page at all.
Things you send us
If you email us - to suggest an app, report a broken link, correct a guide, or ask something else - we receive your email address, your name as it appears on the message, and whatever you chose to put in it. We would rather you sent us the least you need to: a store link and a sentence is usually plenty, and there is never a reason to send us identity documents, payment details, or screenshots showing your account credentials in another app.
Things collected automatically
When a page loads, our hosting provider records a standard server log entry: the IP address the request came from, the time, the page requested, the referring page if there is one, and the browser's user-agent string. We also use privacy-focused, aggregate analytics to see which guides are read and which links are followed - measured as counts, not as individual journeys, and not tied to a name or an email address.
We do collect
Your email address and message, if you write to us
Server log entries, including IP address and browser type
Aggregate page and outbound-link counts
Your country or region, at the level analytics infers it
We don't collect
Names, passwords or accounts - there are none to create
Payment or card details - nothing here is for sale
Watch history, or anything about what you view inside an app
Data brokered from third parties to enrich a profile of you
3. Cookies and embedded video
Our own pages do not set advertising or tracking cookies. If your browser stores anything from us at all it is functional - remembering a preference you set on the page - and it stays in your browser.
Embedded video is the exception worth knowing about. Some guides include videos hosted on a third-party platform. We load them behind a click: until you press play, the player is a static image and no request goes to the video host. Once you press play, that platform receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its privacy policy rather than ours. If you would rather it never happened, simply don't press play - every article reads completely without the video.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Nothing on this site breaks if you do; there is no logged-in state to lose.
4. How we use what we have
There is a short, closed list of purposes, and we don't repurpose data later for something you wouldn't expect.
To reply to you. If you email, we read it and answer it. That's the whole use of your address.
To keep the directory accurate. Reports of broken links and wrong descriptions are how listings get corrected.
To understand what's useful. Aggregate counts tell us which guides deserve updating and which are being ignored.
To keep the site standing. Logs are how a host detects abuse, blocks attacks and debugs errors.
If you are in the UK, the EU or somewhere with comparable law, the legal bases are: legitimate interests for running and securing a website and for measuring it in aggregate; and, when you email us, the plain fact that you initiated the correspondence and we are responding to your request. We do not rely on consent for advertising, because we do not advertise to you.
5. Who else sees it
Nobody buys anything from us, because nothing is for sale. A small number of service providers necessarily handle data on our behalf in order for the site to exist:
Our hosting provider, which serves the pages and keeps the server logs described above.
Our email provider, which delivers and stores the messages you send to our address.
Our analytics provider, which produces the aggregate counts.
The video platform behind any embed you choose to play.
Beyond that, we would disclose information only where the law requires it - a valid legal order, or a genuine need to protect someone's safety or defend a legal claim. If that ever happened and we were permitted to tell you, we would.
6. What happens when you leave this site
Most of what this site does is point you somewhere else: an App Store page, a Google Play listing, a developer's own site. The moment you follow one of those links you are on someone else's property, under their terms and their privacy policy, and this one stops applying.
This matters more than it sounds. A short-drama app you install from one of our links may collect far more than we do - a phone number or social login, your viewing history, device identifiers, payment details for coin purchases, sometimes contacts or location permissions you are asked to grant.
We have no access to any of it and no ability to delete it on your behalf. Before installing, it is worth reading that app's own policy and its data-safety summary on the store page, and granting only the permissions the app actually needs to play video.
7. How long we keep it
Emails: kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period after, so we have a record of a correction or a listing request. We clear out old correspondence periodically, and we will delete yours sooner if you ask.
Server logs: short-lived by design - typically a matter of weeks, which is all that is useful for security and debugging.
Aggregate analytics: retained as counts and trends. Because they are not linked to an identifiable person, they are not personal data at that point.
8. Your rights, and how to use them
Depending on where you live you have some or all of the rights below. We honour them regardless of where you are - it would be strange to sort people by jurisdiction when the whole dataset is an inbox.
Access
Ask what we hold about you. In practice this is whatever emails you have sent us.
Correction
Tell us something we hold is wrong, and we'll fix it.
Deletion
Ask us to erase your correspondence, and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
Objection
Object to our processing on legitimate-interest grounds, and we'll stop unless there's a compelling reason not to.
Portability
Ask for a copy of what you have given us in a usable format.
Complain
Raise it with your national data-protection authority if you think we've handled something badly.
To use any of these, just email us
There's no form and no portal. Say which right you're exercising and we'll act on it - usually within a few days, and in any case within one month. We may ask a question to confirm the request really came from the address it claims to.
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 - or under the higher age set by local law where that applies. If a child has emailed us, write to us and we'll delete the message.
Separately, and more importantly for parents: the apps we list are not ours to supervise. They carry their own age ratings on the store, and several contain adult themes. Store-level parental controls and screen-time limits sit with the device, not with us.
10. Security and where data is handled
The site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and ours is encrypted. Access to the inbox is protected by a strong, unique password and two-factor authentication. We hold so little that there is very little to lose - which is itself the strongest security measure available to us.
No transmission over the internet is ever perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including outside the UK and EEA; where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the “last updated” date at the top moves. For anything substantive - a new category of data, a new purpose - we'll say plainly on the page what changed rather than quietly editing a sentence. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about anything we hold, go to help.freereels@gmail.com - the same address as everything else. There's no separate privacy team; it's read by the same person who answers the rest.
For anything to do with an app itself - your account, a charge, a video that won't play - that app's own support is the only place that can help. Our contact page explains where those enquiries should go.
